The workplace can be very challenging to navigate when living with idiopathic hypersomnia. Questions, concerns, and issues often arise in regards to your symptoms. What can the employee with IH do when these matters arise?
The Job Accommodations Network (JAN) is one of a number of services provided by the US Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). Its website notes that JAN is ”the leading source of free, expert, and confidential guidance on workplace accommodations and disability employment issues. … JAN represents the most comprehensive job accommodations resource available.”
Check out JAN’s “Accommodation and Compliance Series: Employees with Sleep Disorders”. We thank PAAC member Beth Boyce for this tip!
JAN provides free, confidential technical assistance about job accommodations and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
