The Hypersomnia Foundation has a lot going on right now, and there are many ways to show your support!
Donate
Our 2017 Fall Fundraiser is underway. With your donations, HF has been able to launch and maintain a patient registry to aid research; hold annual conferences; update, print and mail brochures to physicians; exhibit at the World Sleep Congress; develop comprehensive guides for students and their parents; send out a free monthly e-newsletter with research updates & useful info for people living with IH, and so much more. ALL of our Board members are donating this fall, but we can’t do it alone!
Who are the people with IH? They’re young adults struggling to attend college, they’re parents raising kids & grieving over lost time with them, they’re workers setting 6 alarms & trying to hide their IH symptoms to keep their job. HF is working on their behalf every day to supply resources and research updates, increase awareness, advocate for better treatments, and so much more. Please donate to support the mission of HF. Let’s get #BeyondSleepy!
Did you know: if you prefer to donate WITHOUT using Paypal, old fashioned snail mail still works!

GivingTuesday
#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement built by individuals and communities in the US and in countries around the world. On #GivingTuesday, millions of people come together to support and champion the causes they believe in by donating and fundraising on their behalf.
This year #GivingTuesday falls on November 28th. In celebration, Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are partnering once again on a national campaign to support nonprofits.
Donations to nonprofits made through Facebook’s charitable giving tools on November 28th will be matched up to$50,000 per nonprofit or $1,000 per fundraiser or donate button, until the $2 million in matching funds run out. The match will begin at 8AM EST (5AM PST). All donations on #GivingTuesday will be free of Facebook fees, even after the match runs out (through 11:59 PM Hawaii UTC).
Create your donate buttons on Facebook now and plan to donate to the Hypersomnia Foundation on November 28th to maximize your contribution and take advantage of the match!

2017 PJ’s and Pillows Challenge
The 2017 PJs and Pillows Challenge has commenced! Help us raise awareness of Idiopathic Hypersomnia (IH) beyond our own online community.
All you need to do is:
Put on your pj’s, grab your sign*, and take a selfie anywhere you like!
Post** on your Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram account with hashtag #BeyondSleepy
Challenge your friends and family to do the same – That’s it!
*You can make your own sign: Let’s Get #BeyondSleepy OR download and print ours: http://bit.ly/2Ah8LND
**Remember to make your post PUBLIC to reach more people, and include our website hypersomniafoundation.org – make sure people know you are raising awareness of IH!
As we all share these photos on social media, be sure to explain that IH is a chronic and often debilitating neurological disorder that no amount of napping will cure! You might reach someone who has been struggling with the symptoms and thinking they’re alone – or worse, blaming themselves. Help us increase awareness and support our work at hypersomniafoundation.org.
Twibbon
Even easier than taking a pj photo: Show your support for the Hypersomnia Foundation by adding a Twibbon to your profile photo on Facebook and Twitter! Please join us in spreading awareness and support! #BeyondSleepy

Let’s Get #BeyondSleepy!
Our slogan “Let’s get #BeyondSleepy” is a metaphor intended to provoke a discussion or consideration of the many ways the disorder affects people with idiopathic hypersomnia.
We strive to “get beyond” all the life altering symptoms, including “beyond sleepiness”, “get beyond” the stigma, “get beyond” the lack of understanding, “get beyond” misdiagnosis and length of time to a diagnosis, and “get beyond” off-label treatments.
